Vauxhall have set down a gauntlet when it comes to beach-visiting vehicles with the introduction of their new Vivaro Surf Concept that looks to go head-to-head with rivals such as the Volkswagen’s California.
Vauxhall have used the basis of the Vivaro Crew Cab van with two rows to seat six passengers. With practicality in mind Vauxhall have equipped it with two sliding doors for easy access for all passengers and there’s plenty of storage solutions with cleverly integrated cargo areas. Underneath the second row of seats the surf-based Vivaro boasts a small storage box, ideal for smaller items whilst the main load space delivers an impressive 3.2 cubic metre load. Vauxhall have ensured the main storage area of the Vivaro concept is entirely separate from the passenger space so that any bulky, wet or dirty items can be stored away without compromising any of the passenger comfort. There is also the option of a special rack that means you can carry bikes and surfboards with ease.
Step inside the cab and you’re greeted with a host of great features. With added extras including leather upholstery, dashboard and technology including Vauxhall’s IntelliLink sat-nav and infotainment system as well as velour floor mats that reduce noise and automatic climate control adds an extra level of comfort.
Look under the bonnet and you’re greeted by Vauxhall’s 140bhp BiTurbo CDTI diesel engine that boasts standard-fit air suspension which allows the vehicle to lower its height to get under car park height restrictions.
Keep your eyes peeled for all the latest information coming out of Vauxhall on their new Vivaro Surf Concept.
