Now known as one of the UK's most exciting and anarchic art fairs, the Vauxhall Art Car Boot Fair 2014 is an annual art fair designed to showcase the very best of independent British art, in conjunction with some huge names from the art world. 2014 marks the start of something different, however: while previous fairs have been confined to London, this year sees the event also travelling to Liverpool and Folkestone to spread the excitement even further.

Beginning in London's Brick Lane on June 8th, the Vauxhall Art Car Boot Fair 2014 combines well-known artists such as Tracey Emin & Emin International, Gavin Turk, Sir Peter Blake, Pure Evil and more with a variety of entertainment, high-end art bargains and artisan food. The event began with the launch of the Vauxhall Art Cargo: a Vauxhall Vivaro van that was specially customised and filled with art and art materials, giving visitors the chance not only to buy some great artwork, but to have a go at creating their own while there.

London, Liverpool and Folkestone will all also be featuring the Go Forth Plinth, which will play host to a range of commissions from artists displayed on the roof racks of Vauxhall cars. Each piece featured on the Plinth will have additional works associated with them that fair visitors will be able to buy.

One of the key elements of the Vauxhall Art Car Boot Fair 2014 is the presence of a number of up and coming artists, who will be selling their own works of art from the backs of a variety of both new and vintage Vauxhall cars. Works will mostly be priced between £10 and £1,000, meaning that fair visitors can pick up something new at a fantastic price.

Renowned for its eccentricity, quirky style and sense of fun, the fair has already visited London's Brick Lane on June 8th, and headed to Liverpool on July 5th to coincide with the first weekend of the Liverpool Biennial. Those who are interested in experiencing the fun and frivolity of the Vauxhall Art Car Boot Fair 2014 don't necessarily need to wait until 2015, though, with a further event scheduled for August 30th in Folkestone, to coincide with the opening weekend of the town's Folkestone Triennial. It is still possible that future dates could be added - check the website at http://www.artcarbootfair.com/events for more information.
